Toronto, CA

I am getting the best work I ever had now. But it’s few and far between.

Dear Tom,

I haven’t heard from you for quite a time. I do hope everything’s okay back there. As for myself I am very well and have again moved just a couple of blocks down the street. I have a little apartment with bedroom and kitchen for $12 a week. Which is cheap. This place is very clean with terrific furniture.

Business wise I am just making barely enough to live on. That’s why I have not been able to send you anymore money yet. However I will go to the bank and try and get a loan. Then I can pay the bank back over a long period. And when business picks up I’ll be okay to pay them quicker.

I was at Mosport last week-end and saw Stirling Moss race again, but his car broke down when he was in the lead. This week-end I go to Watkins Glen N.Y. to see the Grand Prix of the United States. Moss of course will be driving along with all the other top drivers. Stirling Moss has won the Grand Prix of Europe at Nürburgring ring which was a terrific victory for him. I have an article that I illustrated in this weeks Toronto Star Weekly magazine for the last Mosport race. I am getting the best work I ever had now. But it’s few and far between.

I’m sorry I have not been writing too often or sending birthday cards but I lost the list I had of dates.

Summer is over now and cold weather is creeping in. This year is going fast for me, too fast. Many regards to you all and hoping I’ll hear form you soon.

As ever,
Dave
